Otilia is delighted! Her animal shelter, “Ayin Ruka,” has finally gotten new fences. The old ones had been rotting away for years; Otilia could barely keep up with patching the holes and lived in constant worry for her dogs, since Ayin Ruka is located right next to a busy road.
Then, unexpectedly, funding became available from a government grant program, facilitated by a competent and dedicated project manager. He and two other Chilean helpers, together with our two volunteers Karsten and Heinz, completed a “marathon effort” in March to install 125 meters of new fencing. Karsten and Heinz are experienced craftsmen and were thus able to make a decisive contribution to meeting the strict repair requirements despite limited time.
They also captured their impressions in photos and videos. The resulting stories, told through images and music, provide a vivid example of successful development cooperation and international understanding. They can be found at this link on our YouTube channel.
