Requirements
Member associations in the “Chilean Animal Protection Association” network must fulfill the following conditions:
- Willingness to work together constructively, to listen to each other and to find and implement common strategies.
- Willingness to regularly attend meetings and take on defined tasks.
- Non-profit association in Chile (certificate of registration in the Chilean register of non-profit legal entities)
- Legal personality in Chile (certificate of validity of the non-profit legal entities and certificate of the register of non-profit legal entities)
- At least 2 years of experience.
- Working at national, regional or local level.
- Transparency (social media and/or website)
- Rigorous adoption process (including pre-adoption filter, adoption contract and monitoring)
- No definition on any political line.
- No rejection of euthanizing animals (as a last option in defined cases)
- Promotion of neutering to prevent the uncontrolled reproduction of animals.
- Any existing animal shelters or rescue centers must be in good condition. Hygiene and medical care must be ensured.
Each association goes through an admission process lasting around two months:
- Step 1: Contact and interview
- Step 2: Examination of the admission requirements
- Step 3: Presentation to the board
- Step 4: Presentation at the network meeting
- Step 5: Query of any objections from network members
- Step 6: Official admission
- Step 7: Membership certificate
